Embargo date is up today - but my video doesn't publish for another 2.5 hours on the two items I already have - The P365 Fuse and the Romeo X Enclosed. They have a bunch of stuff you can see launching today - I'll tackle what's coming out. I'll take photos of them today and do a post for y'all on the range - last night at the dinner with the unveiling the lighting was trash. Use your IMAGINATIONS for now.
P365 Fuse - a big little gun. $730 price tag - keep that in mind because that's important before you read the features: Dawson precision FO front sights, RMSC cut, 1x17 round magazine, 2x21 round magazine, aluminum magwell, laser etched grip frame (very good) w/ back straps. They plan on selling it with the Romeo X Enclosed for about $1000 . The gun is ridiculously accurate - this was a zero validation group I shot - 3 shots @ 25 yards . When I get a holster - it's going to replace my skinny carry gun and likely promote me being lazy. While it's not as stable at speed with spicy ammo as a proper big gun.

Romeo X Enclosed - $480 for 3 or 6 MOA RMSC cut, $500 circle dot RMSC, $530 3 or 6 MOA on DPP "pro cut", $550 Circle Dot - Pro cut. Put simply - this sight outclasses the EPS in every category. It has better glass clarity, better emitter quality (to my eyes and the EPS emitter is VERY good) , lower deck height than EPS, more robust housing (it was engineered to be tougher than the EPS) better battery compartment. Super high quality. Put very simply - it's the best carry sight. Tested with 10mm and can take it. Fun story - when they developed the RM17 optic - they were first looking at the Romeo X enclosed - then the army called asking after a soldier proof optic that could teach 18 year old who have never shot a gun how to rapidly pick up the dot - they reconfigured the RM17 from the Rx - after that project was complete they shifted back to the Romeo X Enclosed and took what they learned from the RM17 project and applied it here. Pretty cool story. Nitrogen purged, all that.
Sig P320 XFive SXG - the STEEL FRAME'd 320 we all wanted. Slide and frame are stainless - has the same grip configuration as an AXG grip module - weighs 50 ounces bare. Other than that it's a classy black G10 grips / matte stainless 5" gun - it will be Max's new gun for the rest of the year. Feeling it - it felt pretty great - looking forward to shooting this one.
Romeo Max Pro - a deltapoint pro version of the Max with both a thinner bezel around the glass and a larger window than the old max sold in both 4 and 8 MOA. $699 sell price on the DPP footprint. It is absolutely gorgeous. The DPP footprint is having a moment between this and the Vortex Defender XL. Assembled in USA in the new plant they just opened (not the old new plant in Wilsonville, ANOTHER new plant in OR). I'm excited about this optic.
Sig P226 40th Anniversary - exactly what you'd imagine - sold in a retro box - I'll probably buy one of these because I like the P226. No clue what the price will be.
Sig P226 XFive Reserve - this gun is amazing looking and likely shooting - but this is the pinnacle of Sig Sauer doing what sig does and iterating on a gun to death. I love it and hate it at the same time. Basically take the P226 XFive Legion give it a high polish PVD finish - it's either Black or PVD Blue - sport takedown lever, Aluminum GridLOK grips , slide comp, but a STEEL frame. SO this gun is basically the XFive Legion with prettier grips a prettier finish and a steel frame. and it looks REALLY good. Price is $2,800. That's a lot for a trophy piece to me - but it's really pretty.
Sig P320 Flux Legion - a flux legion from the factory - no clue on price - has the slide comp AXG Legion slide - has one button reloads - meaning the "not a fore grip" fore grip and the gun grip can release mags at the same time so if you're using the spare mag as a VFG you can trigger the release and it drops the main mag and the reserve mag - which happens to already be in your hand - making a super short and super fast reload. It's pretty cool if that's your thing.
They also are launching some optics for rifles they didnt' really talk about. So check back - I'll be posting photos of the stuff. Hopefully some videos later this week into next on the stuff I care about (P226 Reserve, RMP, P320 SXG).
So there's it happening - it was a good stage up until that point . You can actually see the issue starting as the gun hangs out of batter entering the position which forced me to rack a round out to get it back into battery - which I handled well. This sequence was paper, mini popper, mini popper activator, distant open target, bobber (didn't engage), partial (didn't engage) - so I ate 4 mikes and 2 procedurals right there. And it still was a 3.44 hit factor.
The good news so now the guns working I look forward to two days of mayhem!
Below - you can see a shock buff - it's a washer, basically that threads onto the guide rod. The theory of what a shock buff does is it alleviates some of the impact when the slide opens all the way - they're usually made out of Delrin or rubber or whatever but this one is aluminum and was supposed to be maintenance free. It kind of compresses the spring a bit more since you don't trim the spring so it makes lighter springs work more like a higher poundage ...
I got this pretty epic slow motion in the range of the Deagle going off. that gun is silly fun to shoot. The fireball is massive - I started to chrono the ammo I have for it - it's not as impressive as the fireball would suggest. It's about 1200 FPS with a 300 grain projectile. For comparison - the 6" 10mm with a 180 grain Blazer Brass was doing 180 grains at 1200 FPS.
The 10mm 1911 is pretty tame to shoot - not wildly different form a 45.
I was going to do a video on 10mm ammo and then shoot water jugs and slow motion of them popping - but then the sky opened up on me.
Just wanted to share this with you guys as an option you might not have heard of. Good quality, good execution, good designs. I don't have any sort of business relationship with them nor have interacted with them beyond giving them my credit card information. Pretty legit.
So sorry for this being posted so last minute - I had this edited like 2-3 weeks ago - conversations were with OAD that it would go live for SHOT - but then they announced it way earlier and I never connected the fact it wasn't attempting to be embargo'd. So I never uploaded it - like an idiot. I finished that drill this morning and never got you guys a preview of it when I DID realize that there wasn't any sort of embargo violation. So yeah. Sorry about that. That all said - I don't know what is about this gun. They - kind of like the Daniel Defense H9 - failed to kind of build on the momentum they started at SHOT 2023 and the conversation seems to have moved past this gun. The early 2311s were not as impressive as this is now - side by side - this is a MUCH better gun than what they were making last year. It's much better fit and the resultant accuracy is improved despite having the ports. My 2311 is production gun - like $600 service pistol accurate - but not 2011 accurate. ...
So in making the 2011 evolving video I was trying to get Todd Jarrett to come on. For those unfamiliar - he's been shooting USPSA since nearly the beginning - he was at the forefront of the sport in the 90's while open was coming into it's own and even has his own specialized cartridge - 38 TJ - for Todd Jarret - it's 38 super brass with a modified extractor groove that allows for full size resizing. So I'm really excited about this - it will take place at some point after SHOT but I wanted to put it out there to you guys - what do you want to know about TJ and the history of 2011 development?
